The brand
This vintage Cord wristwatch, double-signed with Beyer Chronometrie, reflects a fascinating chapter of mid-20th-century watch retail and manufacturing. Produced in the 1950s, the watch pairs the understated design language of the era with the prestige of one of Switzerland’s most historic watch retailers. Founded in 1760, Beyer is the oldest watch store in Switzerland and was known for selecting high-quality pieces from respected manufacturers and co-signing them for sale in its renowned Zürich boutique.

The Cord name appears on a small number of elegant mid-century timepieces, often characterized by refined proportions and clean dials typical of the period. The presence of the Beyer signature adds an additional layer of desirability, as double-signed watches were typically reserved for trusted retail partnerships and are increasingly sought after by collectors today.

Combining classic 1950s styling with the historical significance of Beyer, this piece represents both a wearable vintage watch and a charming example of the collaborative traditions that shaped the golden age of Swiss watchmaking.
