Eterna was one of Switzerland’s most important historic watchmakers, with a reputation for technical innovation and a particularly significant role in the development of automatic wristwatches. The Eterna-Matic Les Historiques 1935, reference 8490.41, was created around the turn of the millennium as a tribute to the elegant rectangular watches of the Art Deco period. Its distinctive stainless-steel case, measuring approximately 26mm across, is paired with a beautifully restrained dial and discreet date display, giving the watch a strong 1930s character while remaining unmistakably modern in construction. Powered by the automatic ETA 2681 movement and protected by a sapphire crystal, the Ref. 8490.41 combines vintage-inspired proportions with the practicality of a contemporary mechanical watch.
