Sicura was a Swiss watch brand active mainly in the 1960s and 1970s, known for producing robust, affordable mechanical and early quartz watches with a distinctive 1970s character and functional design. Under the leadership of Ernest Schneider, Sicura grew into a high-volume manufacturer that embraced evolving trends, from sporty divers and chronographs to jump-hour and digital models, offering accessible Swiss timepieces to a broad audience. In the late 1970s, Sicura’s owner acquired the historic Breitling trademarks during the upheaval of the quartz crisis and eventually phased out the Sicura name in favour of building the Breitling brand, which it continues to steward today.
