The brand:
Zentra is a historic German watch brand that began in 1927 as a cooperative of German watchmakers and quickly became a well-known name in the mid-20th century for reliable mechanical wristwatches, including dress and chronograph models supplied with movements by German and occasionally Swiss makers such as PUW and others. Like many traditional brands of its era, Zentra struggled during the quartz crisis of the 1970s and 1980s and ceased original operations, but the name was revived in the early 2000s under new ownership with modern production and a mix of movement sources. Vintage Zentra chronographs and watches remain collectible today as examples of mid-century German-market horology.
